On Friday 22nd August, Capt. Michael J. Doyle retired from his position of  Lifeboat Operations Manager. To commemorate this occasion, a special evening was  held in his honour. Firstly, at the Boat House and then afterwards in Hotel Rosslare.

These Rosslare Harbour lifeboat crew were on board  Donald & Barbara  Broadhead 17-43 , for the trip to Fethard and wreath laying ceremony on Saturday 22nd February.

A tribute to Fergus Wickham was held at Hotel Rosslare on 1st November. Fergus has served with Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat as crewmember, Coxswain & D.L.A. for over 50 years. Earlier in the evening Fergus brought the lifeboat to sea on exercise.

Two long serving members of Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat were honoured on the 8th June, at a ceremony held in Trinity College, Dublin.

Fergus Wickham & David Maloney.  Fergus Wickham has over 50 years service with the station & was serving coxswain.

David Maloney, a former crew member & now Chairman & Deputy Launching Authority has over 30 years service.

Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat station had a refueling stopover from Tamar 16-25, RNLB Kiwi en route to Moelfre, N.Wales via Arklow.

RNLB Kiwi arrived 16.15  Sunday 3rd March, refueled & resumed her journey to Arklow for the night.  RNLB Kiwi had come up from St Marys, Scilly Isles.

Presentation of Vellum & Medals

Edward WickhamOn 25th February 2012 Mrs Clodagh Wickham presented to Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat station her Grandfather’s vellum & medals. Edward Wickham was Coxswain of the Wexford lifeboat from 1899 until 1925.

Following the rescue  of the ‘Mexico’ on February 14th 1914, Edward Wickham was presented with a clasp to his previously awarded silver medal, thanks from the Institution on Vellum & signed certificates from the King of Norway.

These are now all housed in a specially constructed display in the Rosslare Harbour Boat House.

The unveiling of a plaque commemorating the sinking of the SS St Patrick off the Welsh coast on Friday 13th June 1941 took place in the Terminal building of Rosslare Europort on 13th June 2012.
