Eddie Sinnott & his fundraisers have yet again managed to raise an amazing sum   from a  funraising event held in Kilmuckridge this summer.

They managed to collect € 7,100-00.  This is a tremendous figure given the present economic climate.

The Operations Manager, Capt. Michael Doyle expressed sincere thanks from all those at Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat station & made a presentation to Eddie Sinnott.  Eddie & many of his fundraisers spent the afternoon at the Lifeboat Station.

Eddie recieved an award from The Lifeboat Institution earlier this year for his fundraising activities.

Pat Busher, the fundraising treasurer, was presented with an award at the R.N.L.I. official function in Kilmainham this June. This is testament to the dedicated work Pat has put into the fund raising for Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat. Many congratulations from all those involved in Rosslare Harbour Lifeboat.

In 1981 some friends of Eddie Sinnott, Morriscastle, were rescued by Rosslare Harbour lifeboat. Every year since then, Eddie  has organised the raising  of much needed funds for the Lifeboat Institution. Each year Eddie has presented a cheque to Rosslare Harbour station. 31 years of fundraising has to be recognised as a tremendous achievement & this May in Kilmainham, Eddie was honoured at the annual awards ceremony. Why gifts in Wills matter

Did you know that 60% of the RNLI’s funding comes from gifts in Wills?

The work of our lifeboat crews – along with the provision of the best possible boats, equipment and training to ensure their safety – relies entirely upon the generosity of kind supporters like you.

There will always be a need for our volunteer lifeboat crews to undertake lifesaving operations around our coastline and on our inland waterways. A gift in your Will helps to ensure that we can continue to provide this service for future generations. Remember, we receive no funding from the UK government.

After providing for those you care for, please consider leaving just a small proportion of what’s left over to help us provide the training and equipment our crews need to operate in safe conditions, well into the future.

Each and every gift, regardless of size, counts. For example, just €19 will purchase a pair of gloves to protect a volunteer’s hand, €49 will purchase a pair of yellow wellies and €1,477 provides lifesaving training for one crew member for a year.

We appreciate that leaving a gift in a Will is a big decision and we promise to respect you and your choices. The RNLI legacy promise outlines our commitment to you.

Our promise to you

  1. We won’t put you under pressure – it’s a big decision so please decide in your own time.
  2. Your family comes first. We know it, we respect it and we won’t try and change it.
  3. We’ll use your special gift wisely and effectively.
  4. You don’t have to tell us your decision – we respect your right to privacy.
  5. If you want to, you can come and see our service first hand – just let us know.
  6. We’ll answer any questions you have honestly and quickly.
  7. If you want your gift to be spent in an area that’s special to you, we’ll arrange it.
